Nest Collective Takeover
Approximate run time: 90 mins
Thu 20 December 2018 at 5:30 pm
Royal Festival Hall, The Clore Ballroom, Level 2
Take in the finest of folk and world music this Winter as the Nest Collective bring you engaging sounds and rhythms, with a dose of audience participation.
Nest Collective are joined by Katherine Priddy, dream weaver, hypnotic storyteller and fragile performer, who encapsulates the rich and often solemn side of artists gone by such as Nick Drake and John Martyn, delivering each word with a genuine warmth and charm.
Taking the audience on a musical journey, English instrumental duo The Hut People (Sam Pirt and Gary Hammond) mix global rhythms with folk tunes in a quirky celebration of our rich musical heritage, featuring feel-good dancing tunes, step dancing, Québécois foot percussion (while playing the accordion!) and humour aplenty.
Formed in 2006, the Nest Collective are London’s fix for folk, building musical communities and seeking out those who want to create sonorous experiences in unusual places.
